Start work Monday

I start working full time again on Monday. I am excited for the routine and paycheck, but dragging my feet a little because of the change. I thought this photo captured it perfectly. I'm trying to lean into this change.

Why I named my blog "spiritual adventures"

My life changed the year I went to Kenya with Comfort the Children International. This was what I would call my first spiritual adventure. My experience with CTC shifted my perspective of the world to the core and I have never been the same since. My life expanded and I am so very grateful to them. Their organization is truly doing in the world instead of talking about change. They represent a better world. I am honored to know these folks and call them my friends. Check their site out or donate/change your life through a trip to Africa.

Such a loss

My best friend's father died this week. The world has a huge hole in it now. Milton was a man of God and love. Oh what a great example he was to me. Love you best friend. I am here for you!

The simple life at the lake

I thought I would share with you what we do at the lake. It's a great time sitting on the back porch drinking our morning coffee staring at the sage green water. We laugh, relax, and eat. This is my momma who is a true fighter and my creative inspiration.

And these are my parents dogs who all they do is want to play fetch. Once you touch their tennis ball there is no way you can walk away without playing with them.Callie and Belle are sisters who have to be side by side in everything they do.

Ohh how I love the simple life!

Going to hang with mom

Going to the lake today to hang with momma for a few nights. I'm really excited to stare at the Guadalupe river and be next to my mom. Enjoy your next few days with the people you love.

After

Here's the after photo of the chest of drawers for my lovely walk in closet.
It's amazing what a coat of paint can do.

Tuesday music

Needing some music to get my muscles going for this glorious day! Had to go old school. I love the flash of the 1980s family living room before the music starts, makes me smile. Classic! It's something about the Casio keyboard that fills my soul.

Leaning in

Sometimes for me it's about leaning into my life and enjoying the smallest events such as washing the dishes that help me get through the day. Be present and enjoy what is here now!

Random acts of love

I love when I catch strangers in random acts of showing affection and love. I overheard someone today saying "I love you booger" to his girlfriend and found it very heart warming. One of my favorite movies Empire Records has one of my top 5 love songs "only you" and this video is catching someone in a random act of love. Spread the love.

Inspiration

Here's a mantra I need to add to my list.

Here is my recipe in order to create;
C - R - E - A - T - E
C- Create a space to work
R- Routine, set up the best time for you to work!
E- Establish good habits, expect error & excellence.
A- Always begin with gratitude.
T- Time - take time, start small.
E- Enjoy what you do.

The perfect Mother's Day gift

These seasonal collector's edition note cards would be right up my mom's alley. She has always placed fresh cut flowers throughout her house as a pure gesture of love. What a treat. Love you momma!
